Dive Mexico and Swim with the Whale Sharks!

The dates are confirmed! We are diving Mexico July 10 – 17.

This is going to be a fabulous trip. We will spend 8 days and 7 nights at the All Inclusive Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort in the Riviera Maya Playa Del Carmen area south of Cancun. The resort has 5 swimming pools, including a pool for children, 4 restaurants, snack bar, 5 bars, fitness center, and tennis. There is a kids club for children 4 -12. The rooms include a king bed or 2 double beds, air conditioning, satellite TV, direct access phone, safety deposit box and a full bathroom with shower, bathtub and hairdryer. Handicap facilities and non-smoking rooms are available. Complimentary transportation is provided to the dive shop.

The dive package includes 4 ocean dives, 2 cenote dives and our choice of 2 tank ocean dives, 1 tank cenote dive or 1 night dive. We will be diving with Dive Aventuras in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

We will spend most of one day on the Whale Shark Excursion. This will prove to be an experience of a lifetime, as these gentle giants rise to the surface to feed, carefree and ignoring human presence, swim around you in their migration period. This experience can only be had from late June to early September. We have chosen July, because this is before hurricane season and we are certain the whale sharks will be in full migration. The whale sharks will be easily seen from the boat if you are not comfortable with entering the water and swimming in their presence.

The package will also include a Tulum Tour, all taxes and airport transfers and Dive Aventuras t-shirt.
Airfare is not included.

Mike and Karen, the owners of Dive Aventuras are North Carolina natives, whom we have dived with in the past. They have asked us to pass along, if there are members of the group that prefer not to dive the cenotes, these dives can be replaced with ocean dives. They will work with us in any way to make sure everyone gets in all their dives and has a fabulous time. Since we have had experience with this dive shop, Calvin and I can attest, the dive masters and all of the crew cater to your every want and need!

The entire package is only $1555 per person, based on double occupancy. I checked airfares today, and a non-stop flight on US Air from Charlotte to Cancun is only $349 round trip. We all know the flight prices can fluctuate. We will be eligible for a group rate if we have at least 10 that want to get their tickets at the same time.

Payment schedule:
Down Payment - $300 by November 3, 2009
2nd Payment - $500 by January 15, 2010
3rd Payment - $200 by March 16, 2010
Final Payment - $555 By June 1, 2010
