Dive Key Largo

Don’t forget about the Florida Keys excursion! We will once again ring in the New Year in beautiful Key Largo!

We will be diving with Scuba-Do Diver Company. This year we will be staying at the Key West Inn (Suites of Key Largo). Feel free to visit their website at http://www.keywestinn.net/keylargo-florida-hotel/ . You will see the accommodations are 3 room, two-story waterfront suites directly across the canal from Scuba-Do. There is a queen-size private bedroom upstairs and a sofa sleeper downstairs. The suites will comfortably sleep four. Each suite also has a full-size, fully equipped kitchen and a screened balcony overlooking the marina. There are two bathrooms, two cable TVs per suite and free continental breakfast is included. All suites are approximately 1000 sq feet. There is also a nice pool on site so you can lounge or swim when not diving. Cots can be added to each room at a minimal charge. For those needing more than 6 nights stay, we will be able to secure the same rates, just let us know at the time you register for the trip.

The cost of the trip is broken down as follows:

5 days of diving: The cost is only $350 per person. This will include weights and tanks. (Normal cost it $80 per person = $50 savings)

6 nights accommodations: $950 per room. Since the rooms will comfortably sleep four people, and rollaway beds are available for a small fee, we will let you help us decide if you want to share the suite with a friend. (You will notice on the website they normally charge $199.99 (+ tax) per night, so they are giving us a great discount!)

We have reserved the boat, but have only reserved a few rooms so far just in case there are some of you that want to find other accommodations, and we know some of you will prefer to bring your RV’s. Let us know at your earliest convenience if you are interested in this trip so we can reserve more rooms if necessary.

We have already got a itinerary started for the trip too. We know some of you want wrecks, and some of you want to spear fish and lobster, and some of our newer and younger divers need some shallower dives…. We have mixed it up so everyone is covered! (we may change a couple of the reefs, but the wrecks and spear fishing spots are locked in J

Monday: Molasses Reef and Sand Island Max depth 45 feet
Tuesday: Snappers & Pickles Reefs Max Depth 40 feet (Spear fishing and lobster hunting allowed)
Wednesday: Spiegel Grove and Benwood The Spiegel will be for the experience divers with depths of 100+…. The Benwood wreck is perfect for all divers with max depths of 45 feet
Thursday: Will choose the reefs that will be suitable for “hunting”
Friday: Dwayne and a reef system The Dwayne, again is a wreck for the more experienced divers. We are trying to decide whether to dive a shallow reef in which you will be able to “hunt” or going to French Reef which is a wonderful reef system with swim thru’s… Feel free to give us your opinion.

*****We have the boat reserved for afternoon dives. We have had several people signing up asking about snorkeling and only diving shallow reefs. For those individuals, we are making a few adjustments. We are going to be able to get the morning boat to accommodate those that only want the shallower reefs to dive or snorkel. I am in the process of working out the details with the Captain of the boat and will let you know as soon as those arrangements have been finalized. So for those that have been hesitant to sign up because of the deeper dives, this will completely eliminate that problem 
